An update. Ethan at 9:15pm had a small seizure nothing too bad compared to he's others. He passed out afterward and should be out for the night. He's temp was 103.
I found your blog because we're new to the gluten-free diet. Anyway, my 5 year old son has had two febrile seizures and each time he has a fever, I keep him close. I'm curious, you said it had been two years since Ethan's last one, how old is he now? Jake tends to not take anything when he has a high fever, so I usually have to use suppositories to get the meds down. And lots of drinking water. :)

But at age 2 Ethan had 3 febrile seizures in three months. We finally got those stopped. About 15-16 months ago maybe more I realized Ethan was having nighttime seizures I would put him to bed and about an hour later he would seize. Sometimes shake so bad he would fall out of bed and keep going.
Back then we did tylenol. Today we do not. We do, do Mortin and Emecka (sp) and that helps. There is also a wet sock treatment we do. It worked great with he's last fever but I didn't get to do that with this one. So email if you want that. If I do give Mortin I give lots of apple juice (learned this the hard way) Well anywho we found a natural doctor who told us Ethan's night time seizures were because of heavy metals. Sure enough we started to detox out the copper and within days the seizures have stopped and have not had a seizure since.
So he got sick the first time since starting the diet. I was hopeing for the best with the fever and possible febrile seizure. But he had one. But this one was not like when he was two. It was very light, I didn't even scoop him up to hold him. I let it go and it was over in about a minute, he woke up briefly and passed out until 7am the next morning.
