Chocolate Sauce Canning Recipe

Oh Boy right? We always have a jar opened in the fridge. Boys like it on their crepes and waffles and such.

Chocolate Syrup Canning Recipe
By Marcie Dingerson
Makes 2 1/2 pints

1 Cup Cocoa
1 Cup Organic Sugar
1/4 Tsp Salt
1 Cup Water
1 Tbsp Vanilla

Stir over low heat until mixed, this takes a few minutes. I then turn it up a bit until it's bubbly and pull it and pour it into jars and let it sit a bit. You waterbath for 10 minutes. I have never doubled the recipe, I just do this in batches. So I made this three times today and got 6 jars.

Does it end up smooth and cream tasting? Or not so much since it is non-dairy?

It depends on how long you let it boil. I accidently let this batch boil too much. My first batch was just perfect and I will do that again now. Cook it until it's mixed and just warmed you are good to go. Don't really need a hard boil. But either way it's good chocolate, a few seconds in the microwave and you should be good to go if you over boil it.
